Design & Image Limitations
We can help prepare many photographs, logos, drawings, and design ideas for laser engraving, but not every image can be fully restored, recreated, or extensively edited.
We may be able to make basic adjustments such as:
* Cropping and resizing
* Improving contrast
* Removing simple backgrounds
* Converting artwork for engraving
* Cleaning up basic line art
* Adjusting layout, text, and placement
* Preparing suitable files for laser use
More complex image editing may require additional design or artwork preparation. This can include:
* Reconstructing missing parts of a photograph
* Major facial or body changes
* Combining several images into a realistic composition
* Creating highly detailed original artwork
* Restoring severely damaged photographs
* Rebuilding low-resolution logos or artwork
* Removing complicated objects or backgrounds
* Reproducing another artist’s design exactly
We will review the files you provide and explain what can reasonably be done before the project begins. In some cases, we may recommend simpler artwork, a different image, or a professionally prepared file.
Artwork Preparation & Additional Charges
Basic file preparation may be included as part of your project. However, requests requiring extensive image cleanup, layout development, artwork reconstruction, photo editing, tracing, or original design work may require additional art time.
Any additional design or art charges will be discussed with you before the work is completed. The cost will depend on the complexity of the request and the amount of time needed to prepare the artwork for production.
Payment for art or design time may be required even if the physical item is not ultimately produced, since the charge covers the time spent preparing, editing, or creating the artwork.
File Quality Matters
The final result depends heavily on the quality of the original image or artwork.
Clear, high-resolution files generally produce the best results. Small, blurry, dark, heavily compressed, or screenshot-based images may lose detail when engraved.
Whenever possible, please provide:
* The original photograph or image file
* A high-resolution logo
* Vector artwork such as SVG, EPS, AI, or PDF
* Clear black-and-white line art
* Uncropped images with good lighting and contrast
We cannot guarantee that every submitted image will be suitable for engraving, but we will help determine the best available option.
Customization Within Reason
We want each project to feel personal, but customization is limited by the material, image quality, project size, equipment, and design complexity.
Some requests may need to be simplified or adjusted to create a clean and durable finished piece. We will discuss significant changes, additional art time, and related charges with you before production begins.
